A collection of pet and animal photos
If you like animals please check out some photos of mine I put together for a job application. I just hope I get noticed as there are so many people out there looking for this kind of job.
Update: had a Zoom interview then an in person interview but never heard back. Pretty rude of them but seems that is the way these days. I didn't like the conditions they were proposing (here work your ass off in a windowless building for 12 hours 3 days in a row for an undisclosed amount of money). I knew as soon as they said that, that it would be difficult for me to maintain the outlook I need to take great photos for that period of time. I probably showed this in my body language!!

Such a little treasure she flitted in, hung around a while then was off again.
Her downy feathers caught the light
as they floated gently around her like a little puffy cloud.
When she turned, her yellowy-white bib was quite clear
the distinctive neck line where her feathers turn dark.
As she flew away her tail showed off two sets of white feathers
with dark ones either side. What a little treasure!
Yesterday I ventured high into the forest behind my house. I was sitting still when a little fluttering caught my peripheral vision. A baby miromiro (tomtit) landed on a branch quite close to me. I wondered if this fledgling had ever encountered a human before! We checked each other out. Such a rare and sweet encounter, I felt very blessed. No more tripping around for a while except maybe to the forest with a better camera!

I just sent a letter to the government ...
Asking for MPI (Ministry for Primary Industries) to conduct an immediate review into Tegel's negligence.

Blast from the past ... Pako Pehu is back again!!
Pako Pehu wooing from imajane on Vimeo.
Same same on YouTube
And below a wee portrait of our beautiful Pako Pehu, it was always such a blessing to have him in our presence.
This beautiful tui visited us for nearly three years. He would sit on the ponga frond outside the ranch slider window and warble and tweet away his beautiful song often fluffing himself up which made him appear rather plump! He had a female flitting around him on several occassions. Sometimes she would sit near him. She was so sleek and slim. One time they flew away together in perfect sync down through the trees into the valley. So in tune it appeared to me. Makes me so happy to have nature so close.
Tui have two voice boxes which allows them to create these amazing songs that seem to include chords because they kinda do. Does 2 notes count as a chord?

Opening night slideshow share
Stoked to have the opportunity to take photos at the opening of Mockingbird. And pretty happy they shared the slideshow on their page :)
I have much to learn about indoor event photography! I had some help here from the vibrant and talented Mohamad - 13 of the photos at the end of the slide show are his - thanks dude! Mohamad's approach reminded me that when you're bold you get great reactions which makes for great interactive photos. A big reminder I must to step outside my comfort zone if I want to take great photos of people.
Looking forward to visiting the bar again and checking out the rooftop bar and more of the delicious food. The dumpling was super delicious!

I visited the Vegan Expo at the Southward Car Museum last weekend. What a cool place, friendly atmosphere and lots of innovative products on show including many mouth watering treats. I had my first custard square in many, many moons and was in heaven for a short time! Went back for another for Ron but they were sold out! Doh.
Met some lovely people including Marcela who runs the Underground Soapery We got chatting and she invited me to take photos, yay! I like her style. She uses repurposed paper to wrap soaps in, stamped recycled paper for business cards and no plastic. All while smelling fabulous and being reasonably priced. Pretty stoked that she lives just around the corner in Stokes Valley :)
