What do we want? Justice for animals. When do we want it? Now.
A great march on parliament today - thanks HUHA.
We were addressed by The Greens, Act and Labour. National didn’t bother to turn up (although it was suggested the dogs may be unleashed!). Why do National refuse to listen to the voice of the people? It’s become a typical Shon-Key response!
Protest against animal testing - article on Stuff
UPDATE: great news the government actually listened to the people (like they're supposed to do right?) and banned the use of animals for testing party pills. This is great but I question why it was ever 'allowed' in the first place!

Artificial lighting
Photofriday's topic artificial light had me drag this one up from the archives. I do love how it conjures up memories of enjoying the large expanse this installation enveloped. It really was something to behold. So glad to have photos that bring those memories to front of mind again.

I'm booked in for a photoshoot (YAY!) with the lovely & talented Mandi Lyn and so have been collecting images that catch my eye and creating a pinterest page (as per her preparation instructions) in an attempt to illustrate the kind of photo I'd like created.
I found this site urban-fashion-photography and rather love the photos there. And rather like this one too glamour. It's actually much more difficult than I expected (I should know better being a slave to the lens myself!).
I'd like the true Jane to come out ... but who is she? ... what is she really into these days? ... at the tender age of 42 ... oh me oh my doesn't the time fly!
So, best I make some notes ...
I love simple things
A natural look
Bokeh in the background
Light and dark
Fun and fantasy
Real and serene
Surreal and stark
How to fit it all into 6 photographs?
I am sure we will find out soon!

Solar eclipse through welding glass
What a treat for morning tea we got to observe the moon pass in front of the sun. 4 minutes in I was pretty stoked the little camera did such a great job you can even just make out the tiny dot of Venus. Gotta love welding glass!
Magical view to Mt Taranaki
on route to Sydney from Wellington we were treated to this beautiful view.

A Beautiful Rarotongan Sunset
My friend Steffen requested this large on a canvas. It's just arrived and I couldn't help myself and ordered my own copy. It's amazing how seeing a photo large makes it larger than life!
